British legion junior 4BBB knockout
Saffron Walden junior squad met Garon Park Golf Club junior squad in the regional quarter finals of the British Legion National Club 4BBB knockout. SWGC juniors were on form with the tightest win in the competition being 5 up.
The first group was made up of the junior captain Richard Hall and playing partner Louis Martin. The pair struggled too keep pace with the opposition with them birdieing the first 3 holes putting SWGC juniors 3 down through 3.
But a late fight back and a few errant shots from the opposition saw Richard and Louis manage a 3 up win through 18.
The second and final pair was made up of Callum Brookes and young star talent Josh Izod. The pair lost the first hole, but struck back with Josh's majestic short game securing a par 4. From that point on, the signature pairing only extended their lead with Brookes carding 1 eagle and 5 birdies and Josh carding an amazing 8 pars, putting them 7 under par gross together in better ball, leading to a 7 up victory over their opponents.
The junior team now go on to play the regional semifinals with their opposition to be confirmed.

|Two common faults I often see with a driver set up when teaching are; weight too left sided , and open shoulder alignment. These are both caused by the alteration with the ball position for the driver. As it's moved left in the stance for a right handed player, the weight tends to go with it, and the shoulders open at the same time.Read more...|
